The United States has carried out a seventh consecutive night of strikes against Iran, marking another escalation in the ongoing conflict after President Donald Trump declared that a temporary ceasefire agreement had ended.

The US Central Command (Centcom) said American forces targeted surveillance facilities, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage sites, and maritime capabilities.

The strikes involved fighter aircraft, drones, warships, and other military assets, according to Centcom.

Iran said it responded by targeting US allies across the region. Kuwait reported that its air defence systems had intercepted hostile missile and drone attacks, while Jordan said its military intercepted 10 Iranian missiles that entered its airspace.

No damage was reported in Jordan.

The latest exchange of attacks has also affected shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, where commercial traffic has largely come to a halt. The strategically important waterway normally handles around one-fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies.

Iranian state media reported explosions in the central city of Yazd, Qeshm Island, and near the port of Bandar Abbas. Iranian state media also claimed that two oil tankers had exploded and caught fire after passing through a mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz. Centcom rejected the claim as false.

The escalation follows several days of attacks involving Iran, the US, and regional allies. Iran has claimed strikes against US military facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and Syria, while Washington has denied some of the reported attacks.

Kuwaiti officials previously said Iranian drone strikes injured soldiers and damaged a power plant and water desalination facilities. Reports also suggested that several US service members were injured during Iranian attacks on two bases in Jordan.

Both sides have continued to deny claims made by the other regarding attacks on civilian infrastructure. Iranian authorities said seven people were killed in strikes in Hormozgan province, while Washington denied targeting civilian facilities including bridges, a train station, and an airport.
