President Donald Trump has ordered warning signs to be installed outside the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, claiming some of the museum’s exhibits contain inaccurate information.

The directive was issued through an executive order and marks the latest move in the administration’s ongoing criticism of the Smithsonian Institution.

According to the order, the signs will inform visitors that certain exhibits “should be renovated” to better reflect the findings of a recent report commissioned by Republican lawmakers.

The decision follows the release of a 162-page report that criticized the museum’s leadership, accusing director Anthea M. Hartig of replacing traditional historical education with what it described as political activism.

The administration said the signage will also direct visitors to locations where it believes American history is presented more accurately. However, it did not specify which museums or institutions would be recommended.

The move is expected to intensify debate over how American history should be presented in public museums and the role of political influence in cultural institutions.
