A student at a school near Bangkok has described the terrifying moment she witnessed her teacher being shot during a deadly attack by a 14-year-old boy.

The shooting happened on Friday morning at Debsirin School in Nonthaburi, as students were attending their final classes of the week.

As panic spread through the school, students rushed from classrooms and attempted to escape the building.

Student Witnesses Teacher Being Shot

A seventh-grade student told the BBC that she was standing directly in front of her teacher when the gunman entered.

The teacher was speaking to the student when the attacker appeared and opened fire.

The girl, who has not been named, said the shooter moved from one classroom to another as students desperately tried to escape.

She eventually climbed over the school fence with several other students.

Five Teachers Killed

Authorities said the teenage attacker killed five teachers and injured 23 people, including students, before taking his own life.

Earlier in the incident, the teenager had also shot and killed his grandparents at the home where they lived.

The attack has left students, families and staff deeply shaken.

‘I Thought I’d Never See You Again’

The student’s mother said her daughter feared she would not survive the attack.

After escaping from the school, the girl told her mother that she thought she might never see her again.

The student’s account offers a glimpse into the chaos inside the school as teachers and pupils tried to find ways to escape the gunman.

Investigation Underway

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including how the teenager obtained the firearm and what may have led to the attack.

The incident has also renewed calls for stronger gun controls in Thailand, with the country’s prime minister saying the government plans to introduce stricter restrictions on carrying firearms in public.

The attack is likely to intensify the national debate over firearm access and safety measures in schools.
