ARTnews and Artforum have announced the launch of Art Week NYC, marking the first dedicated citywide art week in New York focused on bringing together artists, galleries, collectors, and art enthusiasts through a wide range of public events.
Scheduled to take place from November 11 to November 14, the four-day celebration will feature artist talks, gallery openings, neighborhood walking tours, exhibitions, and educational programs designed to showcase the vibrancy of New York’s art scene.
One of the event’s key attractions will be a Midtown Manhattan hub programmed by ARTnews and its sister publication, Art in America. The venue will host conversations with influential figures from across the art world, providing attendees with insights into contemporary artistic trends, collecting, and cultural developments.
The event will also include editor-led tours organized by ARTnews, offering visitors guided access to some of New York City’s most prominent gallery districts. Planned tour locations include the Upper East Side, Chinatown, and other major art destinations throughout the city.
Organizers say Art Week NYC aims to create a centralized platform that connects the city’s diverse artistic communities while making contemporary art more accessible to the public. The initiative is expected to attract local audiences as well as international visitors interested in experiencing New York’s cultural landscape.
The launch reflects the continued importance of New York as a global center for art, galleries, museums, and creative innovation. By combining exhibitions, discussions, and neighborhood-based programming, Art Week NYC seeks to celebrate the city’s artistic heritage while highlighting emerging voices and new developments in the contemporary art world.
Additional details regarding participating galleries, speakers, and special events are expected to be announced in the coming months as organizers prepare for the inaugural edition of Art Week NYC.
