Authorities in Lithuania, Britain, and Latvia have detained multiple suspects accused of spying for Russia and planning sabotage operations.
British police arrested two men and a woman in Essex on suspicion of espionage, later releasing them on bail.
Lithuanian prosecutors allege a Russia-linked network planned arson attacks in several European Union countries.
The suspects allegedly sent parcels containing homemade incendiary devices disguised as massage cushions and cosmetic tubes.
Some packages, containing thermite-based explosives, were shipped from Vilnius to the U.K. and Poland in July 2024.
One parcel caught fire at a DHL logistics hub in Leipzig, while another ignited at a Birmingham warehouse.
Latvian security services also detained a man suspected of passing military intelligence to Russia.
Officials said 15 suspects from Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Ukraine were involved in the network.
An international arrest warrant has been issued for three individuals linked to the planned arson attacks.
European security agencies warn Moscow’s sabotage operations in Europe are becoming increasingly dangerous.
