The University of Oxford, located about 60 miles northwest of London, is the oldest university in the English-speaking world, with roots tracing back to 1096. Today, Oxford is home to a diverse student community, where around 45% are graduate students, and more than half of them engage in research.

Academics and Research
Oxford’s teaching and research span four major academic divisions:

The academic year is divided into three eight-week terms: Michaelmas (fall), Hilary (spring), and Trinity (summer). English is the primary language of instruction.

Colleges and Student Life
The university is composed of the central university, 38 colleges, and six Permanent Private Halls. Each college has its own dining hall, common room, and library, creating close-knit academic and social communities.

• Undergraduates are guaranteed college housing in their first year and often beyond.
• Graduate students are not guaranteed housing, but many colleges reserve limited space for first-year and international students.

Tuition and Scholarships
Tuition fees are higher for non-EU students, but Oxford offers extensive financial aid. Between the university, its colleges, departments, and external organizations, there are over 900 scholarships available for graduate students.
