Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a phone conversation with his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday, focusing on bilateral and global priorities.

The two leaders discussed progress on the EU-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA), ongoing negotiations aimed at deepening economic ties between New Delhi and Brussels. They also exchanged views on the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing the need for dialogue and peaceful resolution.

Modi and Meloni further reviewed the implementation of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), a flagship connectivity initiative aimed at boosting trade and infrastructure links across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India-Italy strategic partnership while coordinating closely on global and regional challenges.
