Flights have resumed at Germany’s Munich Airport after drone sightings forced the airport to close overnight on Thursday, October 2, 2025. The closure affected over 30 flights, leaving nearly 3,000 passengers stranded.
By early Friday morning, flight tracking websites showed departures resuming around 5:50 am (0350 GMT). Lufthansa confirmed that operations had returned to normal, noting that 19 of its flights were impacted by cancellations or rerouting.
The incident is part of a recent wave of European aviation disruptions caused by unidentified drones, with airports in Denmark, Norway, and Poland also temporarily suspending flights. Authorities in Romania and Estonia have suggested Russian involvement, though Moscow has dismissed the claims.
