Former Made in Chelsea star completes five ultra marathons in five days for charity

Reality TV star and entrepreneur Jamie Laing has successfully completed an incredible physical feat, raising over £2 million for Comic Relief after running five consecutive ultra marathons in just five days. Laing covered a grueling distance of 150 miles (241 km) from London to Salford, crossing the finish line on Friday, March 22 to a hero’s welcome.

🏃‍♂️ A Challenge of Endurance and Emotion

Laing, 35, admitted that he had “never run more than 5km (3.1 miles)” before taking on this monumental challenge. Despite his lack of long-distance running experience, he pushed himself to the limit in a bid to raise funds for Comic Relief’s annual Red Nose Day campaign.

After crossing the finish line, an emotional Laing shared his feelings:
“That was a wild ride, everyone. That was intense at times. That was emotional. I’ve never cried more in my life.”

🎉 Celebrated Finish and Star-Studded Welcome

Laing was greeted by a cheering crowd, including his wife Sophie Habboo and BBC Radio 1 DJs Greg James, Vick Hope, and Jeremiah Asiamah. The emotional moment was captured as Laing, visibly exhausted but elated, was embraced by his wife and friends.

Greg James praised Laing’s effort, saying:
“What Jamie has done is beyond incredible. Five days, five ultra marathons—this man is unstoppable!”

💸 Raising Millions for a Good Cause

Laing’s remarkable effort has captured the public’s attention and inspired thousands of donations. The challenge has so far raised an astounding £2 million, with contributions continuing to pour in.

Comic Relief co-founder Richard Curtis commended Laing’s dedication:
“Jamie’s effort is a perfect example of what Red Nose Day is all about—pushing boundaries to make a real difference. His hard work will change lives both in the UK and around the world.”

🤝 Why Comic Relief Matters

The funds raised by Laing will support a range of projects addressing poverty, inequality, and mental health issues. Comic Relief has a long history of supporting vulnerable communities in the UK and globally, and Laing’s efforts will provide crucial resources for these causes.

🏆 Inspiration for Others

Laing hopes his achievement will encourage others to take on challenges for causes they care about. He reflected on his journey, saying:
“If I can go from barely running 5km to finishing 150 miles in five days, anyone can push themselves to do something amazing. It’s all about taking that first step.”
