Cefinn, the fashion label founded by Samantha Cameron, wife of former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, is set to close after nearly a decade in business.

Lady Cameron confirmed the decision on social media, citing the impact of rising costs and international trading restrictions on the brand’s operations.

“This was not a decision I have taken lightly, especially as we have recently seen strong trading figures,” she said in a statement.

Cameron added that Cefinn’s online shop and its London boutiques on Elizabeth Street and the King’s Road will remain open for the “coming months” to sell off remaining stock.

Launched in 2017, Cefinn was known for its modern, workwear-inspired womenswear aimed at professional women. The brand built a loyal following but struggled against post-Brexit trade barriers and inflationary pressures hitting the UK retail sector.

The closure marks the end of one of Britain’s most high-profile political family-led fashion ventures.
