British luxury fashion house Burberry has unveiled a capsule collection inspired by Queen Elizabeth II. The collection was developed in collaboration with the Royal Collection Trust, a charity linked to the British royal household.

Designers created the collection to mark the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth. The launch also coincides with a major exhibition titled “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style”, which will open at Buckingham Palace and showcase items from the monarch’s fashion archive.

Meanwhile, the collaboration reflects the long-standing relationship between the British brand and the royal family. Burberry received a Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth II in 1955, highlighting its historic connection with the monarchy.

🧥 Designs Inspired by the Queen’s Outdoor Style

The capsule collection draws inspiration from Queen Elizabeth II’s countryside wardrobe and outdoor lifestyle.

One of the central pieces is a belted car coat made from lightweight cotton gabardine, crafted in Castleford, Yorkshire. The coat features Burberry’s iconic check pattern with a new holly green colourway inspired by the Old Stewart Tartan, which the Queen wore during her lifetime.

In addition, the same pattern appears on a Scottish-woven cashmere scarf and along the border of a silk twill scarf. The silk scarf features a hand-painted illustration of Balmoral Castle, the Scottish residence closely associated with the royal family.

Therefore, the collection blends Burberry’s heritage designs with elements connected to the late monarch’s personal style.

🐕 Corgi Brooch Pays Tribute to Royal Icon

The collection also includes a distinctive accessory that references one of the Queen’s most recognisable symbols.

Burberry designed a gold-plated brooch shaped like a corgi, the breed famously associated with Queen Elizabeth II. The brooch features a small enamelled coat decorated with the Burberry check motif and the brand’s Knight emblem set on a freshwater pearl.

Because the Queen’s corgis became widely recognised symbols of the British monarchy, the accessory serves as a playful tribute within the capsule collection.

🏰 Collection Linked to Major Royal Fashion Exhibition

The launch aligns with the upcoming Buckingham Palace exhibition dedicated to the Queen’s fashion history.

The exhibition will display around 200 items from Queen Elizabeth II’s wardrobe, including several Burberry pieces. Among them are a hooded riding cape from around 2010, a Burberry silk scarf from 2013, and an original invoice for a Burberry coat ordered in 1966.

Meanwhile, organisers say the exhibition will be the largest display ever dedicated to the Queen’s fashion legacy.

Consequently, the Burberry capsule collection helps highlight the historic connection between the brand and the British royal wardrobe.

🛍️ Global Release of the Capsule Collection

Burberry launched the collection on March 12, making the items available through Burberry’s official website and selected stores worldwide.

In addition, the pieces will be sold through Royal Collection Trust shops in London, Edinburgh and Windsor, as well as through the organisation’s online store.

For Burberry, the collaboration represents both a tribute to the Queen’s influence on British fashion and a celebration of the brand’s heritage.
