The City of Brampton is advising residents that avian influenza has been identified in dead waterfowl in one area of the city and suspected in three others.
In a news release, the city said avian influenza (bird flu) has been confirmed in dead waterfowl found near Mayfield and The Gore roads. Additionally, dead waterfowl suspected of being infected by bird flu have been discovered in the areas of Professor’s Lake, James Potter Road and Bovaird Drive West, and Ray Lawson Boulevard and Cherrytree Drive.
The city added the remains have been sent for testing by the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative.
