Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has been discharged from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, after being hospitalized due to dehydration. The celebrated musician is now back home and recovering well.
According to his family, Rahman was admitted for routine tests and medical observation before being released. His hospitalization prompted concern among fans and well-wishers, but his loved ones have assured that there is no cause for alarm.
CM MK Stalin Checks on Rahman’s Health
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin personally reached out to the doctors treating Rahman to inquire about his condition. Later, he took to social media to reassure fans.
“As soon as I heard the news that Isaipuyal (musical storm) AR Rahman had been admitted to the hospital due to ill health, I contacted the doctors and inquired about his condition. They assured me he is fine and will be back home soon,” Stalin wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Family Confirms He Is Doing Well
Rahman’s sister, Fathima Shekhar, confirmed the hospitalization in a voice note shared with the media.
“He experienced slight discomfort, and it was later determined that it was due to dehydration. He has been traveling extensively, which may have contributed to it. He is currently receiving IV fluids and is doing fine,” she said.
Meanwhile, Rahman’s son, AR Ameen, also shared an update on Instagram, thanking fans for their prayers and support.
“To all our dear fans, family, and well-wishers, I sincerely thank you for your love, prayers, and support. My father felt a bit weak due to dehydration, so we went ahead with some routine tests. But I’m happy to share that he is doing well now. Your kind words and blessings mean a lot to us. We truly appreciate your concern and continued support. Much love and gratitude to you all!”
With reassurances from his family and medical team, Rahman’s fans can now breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the musical maestro is on the road to recovery.
