British designer Paul Aaron is gaining attention for his distinctive knitwear designs after his creations were worn by celebrities including Kylie Jenner, Shakira and Zara Larsson.

Aaron, from Hooton near Chester, said he was amazed when Hilary Duff wore one of his statement dresses during her The Lucky Me Tour at Madison Square Garden in New York earlier this month.

The moment was particularly special for the 31-year-old designer, who grew up watching Lizzie McGuire, the television series in which Duff played the title character.

Aaron’s passion for fashion began at an early age. He remembers cutting up his mother Ali’s party dresses as a child to create clothes for his Barbie dolls. Years later, his mother has become much more supportive of his successful fashion career.

He developed his creative style while studying at Central Saint Martins in London, where he experimented with unconventional materials. One of his early designs was a dress made by knitting bin bags together.

His tutor was impressed by the work and encouraged him to specialise in knitwear. Aaron followed that advice and has since developed a distinctive design style that has attracted attention from major celebrities.

The appearance of his dress on Hilary Duff at Madison Square Garden marks another major milestone in his growing fashion career.
