The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is in early discussions to return to acting with a potential role in Netflix series The Gentlemen, according to the BBC.

If confirmed, the role would mark Meghan’s first significant acting appearance since her marriage to Prince Harry. Details of the discussions, including the character she could play, have not yet been revealed.

Much of the previous two series of The Gentlemen, created by Guy Ritchie, were filmed in the Cotswolds. The area has also been linked to reports that Harry and Meghan could establish a home in the UK.

Starring Theo James, The Gentlemen is a comedy series centred on a duke who becomes involved in the drug trade. Actors including Hugh Bonneville and Vinnie Jones have also appeared in previous episodes.

Meghan rose to international fame through her role as lawyer Rachel Zane in the US legal drama Suits. She appeared in the series for seven seasons, with her final episode airing in 2018.
