A survivor of a dramatic emergency plane landing in Prince George, B.C., is sharing his experience after the incident claimed one life and left several others injured.

Jaime Pawliuk said he was driving to work on Thursday afternoon when he suddenly saw the aircraft heading directly toward him.

“All of a sudden it was on top of me,” Pawliuk recalled. He said he tried to steer into the ditch, but the aircraft’s wing struck his vehicle and tore off the entire top, sending glass flying into the car.

Pawliuk suffered superficial cuts to his hands and said he still had pieces of glass in his hair after the crash. Despite the severity of the impact, he was able to walk away from the destroyed vehicle.

Photos he shared showed the extent of the damage, including a shattered sunroof and a metal rod that had pierced the passenger seat.

The incident has left survivors and witnesses shaken as authorities continue to investigate the emergency landing and the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
