More than three decades after Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford ended their marriage, their children from later relationships have teamed up on a new television project.

Homer Gere and Kaia Gerber appear together in the upcoming FX series The Shards, marking an unexpected connection between two well-known Hollywood families.

Speaking on the red carpet at the New York premiere of the series, Homer Gere said he and Gerber had never met before filming began.

“We hadn’t met before shooting,” said the 26-year-old, who is the son of Richard Gere and actress and model Carey Lowell.

He explained that the cast met at a gathering about two weeks before production started and quickly became friends.

Kaia Gerber, the 24-year-old daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, also spoke about the experience.

When asked whether she knew Homer because of their parents’ past relationship, she responded with a laugh, joking, “What connection?”

Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford were married in the early 1990s before divorcing after several years together. Since then, both have built separate families and successful careers.

Now, their children are creating their own paths in the entertainment industry, with The Shards bringing the next generation of the two families together for the first time on screen.
