The United States is facing three major extreme weather threats at the same time, with wildfire smoke spreading across the East, severe flooding affecting Texas and new fires breaking out in the West.

Wildfire smoke blanketed parts of the eastern US on Friday, stretching from the Great Lakes to Washington, DC.

Millions of Americans were warned about hazardous air quality, with some authorities advising people to remain indoors.

Meanwhile, floodwaters continued to affect Texas Hill Country for a third consecutive day, creating dangerous conditions for communities in the region.

New wildfires also erupted across the Pacific Northwest overnight. Authorities said 68 large fires were burning across 15 states.
