A fashion graduate and disability advocate from Cornwall is championing more inclusive fashion after taking part in the Disability Pride Catwalk in Manchester.

Josie Tang, 21, from Penryn, wore adaptive designs from disability-friendly clothing label Recondition during the event.

The Falmouth University graduate said her experience with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome made everyday clothing difficult to wear. Fastening zips at the back of clothes and pulling garments over her head can be particularly challenging.

Tang explored the relationship between disability and fashion during her degree and said she wants to help create clothing that is designed with disabled people, rather than simply for them.

She believes the fashion industry needs to better reflect the wide range of bodies and experiences within the disabled community.

Her participation in the catwalk is part of a wider push for greater representation and accessibility in the fashion industry.
