BST Hyde Park Cancels Final Day as Jeff Lynne Withdraws Over Health Concerns

The final day of the BST Hyde Park festival has been officially cancelled following the last-minute withdrawal of Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) due to health issues. Fans hoping to sing along to classics like Mr. Blue Sky under London’s summer skies were left disappointed after organizers pulled the plug on Sunday’s show.

The 77-year-old music legend stepped down from headlining on doctors’ advice, after being diagnosed with a systemic infection, according to a statement released by ELO. This marks the second cancellation within a week for the band, who also withdrew from a scheduled performance at Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena due to similar health concerns.

Festival organizers expressed their regret, emphasizing that the decision was made with the artist’s health as the top priority. Ticket holders for the final day are expected to be contacted with information regarding refunds or compensation.

Despite the cancellation, earlier nights of BST Hyde Park 2025 featured show-stopping performances from major international artists, continuing the festival’s tradition of musical excellence.
