Haley Joel Osment has issued an apology following a recent arrest where he used offensive language. The former child star was arrested at a ski lodge in Mammoth Lakes, California, for alleged public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.
During the arrest, bodycam footage showed Osment calling an officer a “Nazi” and using an antisemitic slur. In a statement to People magazine, Osment expressed deep regret for his actions, saying, “I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner.”
Osment explained that the recent emotional turmoil in his life had contributed to his breakdown but stressed that it was no excuse for his words. “What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage,” he added. “I’ve let the Jewish community down, and it devastates me.” He concluded by offering an apology to those he hurt, vowing to atone for his mistake.
