On April 3, 2025, the University of Oxford announced the launch of the Oxford Advanced Materials Network (OxAMN), an interdisciplinary initiative designed to unite researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers in the pursuit of developing next-generation materials. The network aims to address critical societal challenges, including achieving net-zero emissions and reducing pollution, by fostering collaboration across various scientific disciplines. Professor Nicole Grobert from the Department of Materials emphasized that OxAMN seeks to create a dynamic community that facilitates the exchange of information across academia, industry, policy, and society. The network’s integrative approach combines experimental research with high-speed computing and modeling to accelerate the translation of laboratory discoveries into real-world applications. The launch event at Corpus Christi College attracted international delegates, underscoring the global significance of this endeavor.
